Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward elected to management place with nationwide group

Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward has been elected second vice chairman of the Nationwide Affiliation of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) for 2022-23 at their annual convention in Saratoga Springs, New York.

“It’s an important honor to be elected as second vice chairman of NASDA,” Ward mentioned. “I’m proud to characterize Arkansas throughout the group and stay up for working with our nation’s states and territories in supporting U.S. agriculture.”

The Nationwide Affiliation of State Departments of Agriculture, based in 1916, is a nonpartisan, nonprofit affiliation which represents the elected and appointed commissioners, secretaries, and administrators of the departments of agriculture in all 50 states and 4 U.S. territories.

NASDA grows and enhances American agriculture by way of coverage, partnerships, and public engagement.

The affiliation is ruled by a 10-member board of administrators which incorporates govt committee members who function officers of the affiliation. Officers for the upcoming 12 months are Doug Miyamoto, Wyoming, President; Bruce Kettler, Indiana, Vice President; Wes Ward, Arkansas, Second Vice President; and Amanda Beal, Maine, Secretary-Treasurer.

Ward served because the 2020-2021 President of the Southern Affiliation of State Departments of Agriculture (SASDA), one of many 4 NASDA areas, and chairman of the Pure Assets and Setting Committee from 2020-2021 and Secretary-Treasurer of NASDA from 2021-2022.
